A new trend in Sydney is forcing some personal trainers out of business. There has been an increasing trend of people wanting to workout in the great out doors. And who can blame them? With increasing gym membership costs it’s a great idea to avoid the crowd and take in some fresh air at the same time.
While the fans of outdoor exercise has been growing so has the amount of personal trainers offering their services.
It seems this cought the eye of some councils. Some of them have began charging a fee for usage of public parks and other places.
However the fee structure is proving to be a large problem for some personal trainers.
Instead of charging one anual license for the use of all parks they have decided that each local government can choose what to charge.
And that’s the problem.
Some personal trainers cover multiple areas which means multiple licenses.
Local sport clubs have already had to pay a set fee to rent and use park space. With the growing demand of outdoor exercise it was only a matter of time before policy had to be put in place.
You can read the full story here, but I’m very interested in what you think about this?Is it fair to the personal trainers?
More importantly do you workout outside? Would you if you could?
